Data Engineer

Tel Aviv / Engineering / Full-time

Are you passionate about leveraging data to solve interesting business problems? On a daily basis, we collect and analyze millions of data points to help to solve the problems of parking. We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing Recommendation Engine team, and help us make it faster and easier for people to get where they need to go.

The Recommendation Engine team at Arrive owns a complete representation of the city parking policy, streets geometry and graph, including all walkable and drivable paths, junctions, parking meters, and parking transactions for every city that we launch.

This means that our data engineers are regularly building/updating ETLs and data models via SQL, surfacing data in our BI tools via dashboards and interactive data products, and working with stakeholders across multiple departments to formulate goals and build a deeper understanding of the city.

Your day-to-day work will be SQL and GeoJSON heavy, but will also require you to operationalize ambiguous business problems into answerable questions, run big-data simulations, translate the data you pull into effective visualizations, and clearly communicate key findings.

What you'll be doIng:

  • Work with a variety of data sources - extracting knowledge and actionable information from massive datasets.
  • Breaking down problems and developing analytical insights.
  • Research and analyze cities’ datasets for integration with the Recommendation Engine platform.
  • Compose custom parking logic and rules in company proprietary language.
  • Measure and improve our recommendations’ quality.
  • Work with internal and external teams to digitize electric vehicle charging, off-street and on-street parking processes, and help to deliver real-time parking insights to users of the largest consumer brands out there.
  • What you brIng to the table:

  • Proficiency in at least one coding language.
  • Ability to create scripts in order to process, or enrich existing large datasets.
  • Good database understanding, either with Postgres or with another relational database, some good SQL skills.
  • Strong spreadsheet abilities.
  • What you get:

  • We will provide you with the platform and the tools to get the job done.
  • A data engineering team to help you get clean, reliable data and maintain the ETLs you build.
  • Collaborative, and capable teammates with a desire to both share their knowledge and learn from you.
  • Opportunity to directly impact success for a rapidly growing business in a fast-paced industry.
  • More about the team:
